The dashed one inch markings increase visibility - which improves accuracy. The ruler highlights the 1/8in markings which are hard to use on traditional rulers. The black and white dashed 1/8in markings show on both light and dark fabrics and ensure accuracy when cutting pieces for miniature quilts.
